Ardeo hummed as he walked along, mud making lewd squishy noises as he traveled. Zelia followed him, ears back, the smell of the swamp land was irritating her sensitive nose. She figured that she would get used to it in time. An Egg was clasped in Ardeo's arms, orange with a small flame symbol in the middle.
His spirits were high as he walked along, humming, because he was on a journey!

[Fuzzle]

A Houndour howled nearby, the sound enough to send shivers up anyone's spine. Somewhere near Route 1, a Murkrow echoed it. I'm Scorpi. growled a voice near the pair. You will leave your Growlithe behind, or face the consequences.

It was impossible to tell what sort of pokemon this was, only that it was dangerous/

[Raichu]

Ardeo was no sort of 'anyone' and was delighted to hear the Houndour. "Another Fire type, maybe we'll meet one soon..." he murmured, and stopped dead in his tracks when the voice crackled from everywhere. He narrowed both eyes as Zelia sidled closer, eyes frightened. "Nuh, I'm not leaving Zelia behind." he answered, defiant. He glanced around, hoping to see this 'Scorpi'.

[Fuzzle]

Then you shall pay the price! Scorpi roared, and a barrage of needles came flying out from the bush. It was a Poison Sting attack. Six small legs scuttled out after the attack had been launched. A shadowy figure emerged, revealing a small Skorupi as the sun shone on it. It propelled itself foreward in it's tail, trying endlessly to bite Zelia's leg.

[Raichu]

Ardeo blinked, surprised, and turned his back to the barrage to protect the Egg, and crouched to cover Zelia. "I hate to ask this of you after you don't like Battling, but your all we have..." Zelia, frightened, nodded, and fluffed her fur up - using Intimidate. She winced when the Skorupi bit her, and with a growl, retaliated with her own.

[Fuzzle]

Scorpi let out another shower of Poison Stings, hoping that one of them would hit Zelia and Poison her. He also winced when Zelia bit him, but quickly countered with a pinch from his tail. You'll never win.

[Raichu]

"We don't have too." Ardeo replied, as his partner shook the spray of needles from her fur backed off from the pinch. "Roar, Zelia, Roar!" The puppy took a deep breathe and...Released a loud and powerful sounding Roar, hoping to scare her opponent away.

[Fuzzle]

It worked, for a minute. Then Scorpi was back, and firing Poison Stings at them again. I can not be scared away that easily...he hissed, trying to bite Zelia again.

[Raichu]

Zelia whimpered, but Ardeo stood firm. "It's okay. We can do this." he would've rathered a weaker opponent, but...You get what you get. "Just hound him with Bites, and he'll wish he ran away."
Zelia shook herself as the needles hit, evading Poison and yelped as the Bite connected with one of front paws. Working through the pain, she dipped her head down to Bite him as well.

[Fuzzle]

He pinched her nose with his tail, and scuttled backwards at an amazing speed for something so small. Another poison sting was aimed right at Zelia's nose, and more were raining down on Ardeo. You can not win... he whispered, sending another Poison Sting flying her way.

[Raichu]

Zelia yelped, and covered her nose with her paws, whimpering. This creature was so mean. "It doesn't matter, I'm not leaving my friend behind." he took a Poke'ball from the belt around his waist and a red beam claimed the Shiny Pokemon. "So what now?" he asked, clutching the Egg and glaring at the small purple Pokemon.

[Fuzzle]

Now I come with you. You have proven yourself to be a good trainer, one who is loyal to his fiends. I will join you. Scorpi replied, nudging a pokeball with his tail. The ball immediatly clicked; Scorpi was caught!

Scorpi has been caught!

"...Hyeh?" Ardeo was pretty surprised. "Uhm...Well...Alright then..." he shook his head, and let the two back out. Zelia scooted away from the Poison Pokemon, ears back. "No, Zelia, it's okay. Scorpi is...Our friend now. Welcome to the family." Arde greeted. "No onward we go!" But then the Egg did something strange...It moved! "Hm?" Ardeo glanced down at the orange Egg, confused.

The egg rocked more violently this time, enough to throw somebody off balance.
